The Community Development Department conducts a variety of planning activities for the Town and serves the function of issuing building permits, sign permits, and business registrations.  The Community Development Department also regulates all subdivision activities in the Town of Mesilla as well as processes any variance requests or special use permit applications.  The Community Development Department also handles Codes Enforcement.

What’s New

The Town of Mesilla is currently reviewing an ordinance regulating alternative energy systems, particularly wind generators.  A copy of the proposed ordinance is available for review at the Town Hall. This ordinance will be considered for adoption on October 25, 2010.
